Since Christmas... I haven't thought about trying this recipe... It calls for an ingredient/a spice (ground cardamom) which I couldn't find in the places I have been to ... like Super Store.. Saveonfood.. I spent quite some time looking for this ingredient during the Christmas time. but I just couldn't find it. ... After Christmas... work became very busy.. so I continue to postpone the plan for this recipe (it takes about 4 hours to do).
Also.. since my Aunt and Uncle were back ... I haven't baked..
I did asked Aunt for permission and baked a few times before... but somehow I felt like under some kind of pressure when she's around... I guess.. when it comes to baking.. it's one of the few cases where I would like to take full control over what I am doing ... I might make a mess during the process.. that's the freedom I need in the kitchen. I will clean up the mess definitely.. but I just don't think it's a good idea to let her see all this.. I really want a kitchen of my own.. where I can bake and do my experiments.. whenever and however I want. like when i couldn't sleep at night.. I could bake..
Today, went to Sylvia's home. We gave this recipe a try. 9 cups of flour.. 5 eggs(1 for brush) ...2 cups of milk... turned into these 3 soft and tasty "braids".. Finnish Pullah. (Thanks to Sylvia, it's done for Easter.) =]
haha.. should be better if they were baked for a bit longer. =p
This is the bread my host Mom would bake for Christmas and Easter. She's a Finnish. and this bread is one of the traditional and popular bread in Finland. I have liked it since the first time I tasted it. =]
