What can I do? I ask myself when i see the news and witness so many lives suffering from the earthquake that has happened in Sichuan...
Tens of Thousands of lives have already been lost (exceeded 12,000 up to this point)... Some parents lost their children, one and only child; some children lost their parents... people lost their family and friends... the most important and precious part of their lives...
Tens of Thousands of lives are still buried under the boulders and rocks waiting to be rescued... Soldiers and firefighters.. doctors and nurses... civilians ... all are working together, doing their best to rescue as many lives as they can... the rescue goes on day and night ... in the rain.. in the cold.. in the danger of injury... yet, In the Hope of rescuing and saving more lives.
What can I do? I ask myself... I can't be there to help... I can't and won't be able to rescue those who are waiting to be rescued... I can't look after those who were injured ... I can't comfort those who have lost their family and friends... I can't
.... I can't be there...
What can I do? ....
I can and I pray. God can do anything that men can't do. !
I pray alone...
I am now home in China... I long to pray with my dear friends in Vancouver ...and This is the thing I most wanna do... to pray with my dearest friends in Vancouver... It's heart-breaking ... my heart is beating so hard... my tears start coming out ... I am long to praying with my dearest friends ...
I long to pray with all of you ...
Let's pray! for the lost lives, for the survivors...for those who have lost their family and friends ... for the people who are working day any night to rescue lives...for those who are away from home worrying about their family and friends... for the entire nation.. We are a family. We are.
Rescuing work is needed, donation is needed, food is needed, clothes and shelters are needed, blood is needed, medicine is needed ...
Strength is needed, ...
Belief, Unity and Hope is needed, ...
....Love is needed ...always
...

We are here before your throne because we know that the world is in your hand. You care for us and are in the midst of us. Knowing that people in Sichuan are going through life and death, we pray for your mercy and love upon China. We pray that despite of the difficult circumstances, people may still receive love and warmth from people around them. We pray for the rescuers' physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Pray that they have energy to continue their great work and get encouragements throughout the long day of work. We also pray for the organization which are sending resources into China. Pray that every donation is actually helping someone and not being misused. Pray for the leaders of these charity organizations to stand firm on their belief and values.
Lord, tell us what to do, how to respond to this disaster. We know that you listen to our prayer, so we place our deepest concern in your hand.
Together we pray in Jesus' Name,
Amen.
