Things happened ..sometimes ... when it's most unexpected...

Now, as I am listening to Jesus, We Enthrone You  ... Draw me close to you. ...

About 8 years ago?? He graduated from the University with EE major.  He then found a job in the computer industry as a consultant.. Work was stressful because of the job nature of the position...  Life seemed to be mundane and unsatisfying... He's making good money... but he's not happy.  Life was like that for a few years.....  Until one day ...

He was biking on the road...Things were good and he was enjoying it .. when he'd least expected it....  He was hit by a car right on. It was really bad.  Although he's still conscious after the hit, he couldn't move his body any more.. he's still conscious when the ambulance came to send him to the hospital.. He's so scared.. because he couldn't move at all... He's so scared also because.. he's afraid he would die... just like that.. ....without living a life he would say a meaningful one. ...  He didn't only survive the really bad accident.. The doctor said he didn't have any internal injury... and it was said to be a miracle.

During his recovery.... he started to reflect on his life.  He started to seek meanings.. in living his life again.  His job didn't make the meaning for him... What could that be? .. He spent months thinking about what's meaningful for him.. what could a meaningful life be for him to live..  He found no answers.  .. One day, in his mail he received a book from the friends he met in a trip to America few years back... It's Purpose Driven Life ... (the friends already gave him a bible when they became friends back then.. when he was not a Christian) ... I don't remember exactly how he came to Christ... but I guess it's through all of that he's experienced.  God had been calling him home all the years.. God's been in the midst of all that's happened to him.

As for baking ... he said he's baking at home when he's doing his consultant job.. he just never thought baking could be his option before he quit the job (after the car accident).  "Why Not" was the answer he found.  He went to a culinary school for a 4 or 6-month intensive baking/pastry professional training program after which we became a pastry chef in a high-end restaurant.. ... during this period of time, he's asking himself.. and telling himself.."Live everyday to the fullest".. The restaurant he worked at faces the ocean.. He oftentimes could see some ships in the sea... He enjoyed watching the ships.. He enjoyed being so close to the ocean... At the bottom of his heart... there's one thing he really wanted to do as he became a follower of God..  That is, missionary.  .. One day, on a piece of paper.. he wrote down the things he would like to be with in his next stage of life..   He wrote down 4 things: Mission/volunteer, Baking, Ship, Sea/Water. ... and he prayed on those things..   One day, when he's cleaning up his bookmarks on his browsers.. (removed the ones he never used..) He came to a website that has this link (Mercy Ship) which he clicked on randomly.

It's getting late... I need to shower.. and sleep. =p
