Have a Grace-full Christmas...

In the video, Nick said to give thanks to God. I do give thanks sometimes.. like... before I got to work, there's hail coming from the sky. I am quite afraid of driving in weather conditions. But when I open my door to get to the car, the hail stops right before my eyes. Then I would give thanks to God for being so 細心 to me. It's really sweet of Him. ^^

This year, one of my lesson as a Christian is about 'Grace'. Grace is something someone does for someone, usually it's in a setting where the receiver may not deserve the 'gift', but the giver gives anyways. I have heard of the word "Grace" even since I was little, but... this year, I realize that I don't really understand what God's Grace is all about. I would work hard to show people and God that I am very capable, that I can accomplished what I promised, that I am worthy of their love...

But God just loves me the way I am and would give me good things even when I can't show Him that I am worthy. Even when I feel so sick on the bed (this happened a lot this year...), when I feel so helpless and hopeless, when I am so angry at myself for not able to take control in my life. God stills loves me and I don't need to do anything to earn His Grace.

I hope you will receive God's Grace this Christmas too.. or at least understand what it is...
Don't be like me who don't really understand His Grace till now..

Have a Grace-full Christmas!

  1. I can't never explain fully what Grace is..
even the person who invented this word? although he/she must be inspired by Him..

Grace is powerful and real as it is.
but it's only powerful and real to us when we see it and experience it. God's grace comes in His timing .. to me to you to others...

    =] Merry Christ mas!

  2. One of our dearest friend wrote to me:

You keep telling me and showing me how amazing God is, but no one actually tells me why they believe in God. No one asks me what I think about Him. No one actually explains things to me in a way that I understand. (Maybe it is solely my problem.. )

have we missed anything that we should've told her?? i can't figure it out....

i understand that it's her own decision, but i really want to make sure we have covered everything that we can tell her/she should know...

    is her conversion coming soon??

  3. haha.. good! then I will ask her what she thinks about God then.

oh.. and I think I meant something else rather than Grace that it will come in His timing... something that's part of His Grace... calling her home.

If we put ourselves in God's place..what would us want to tell her or show her or simply not do anything? What is the underlying truth?

  4. explain everything doesn't mean she'll get her answer

i guess she just want somebody to understand her and know what she thinks

  5. I think we try our best to do our part.
I hope, one day, she will feel the need for the Gospel and God, she herself will ask and seek.

  6. I have a sense that God is calling her, that He really wants her to have a relationship with Him.

in "blue like jazz", the author thinks believing in God is like falling in love. It is sth we decide upon, but also sth that happens to us... it just happens...

    agree??

btw, I have been thinking a lot about why i believe in God in the first place, now, and why should i continue to... but most of my answers are 'textbook answers'!! i dont know what to do.....

  7. isn't it just like when we love a person.. we simply love the person.
when we trust a person.. we simply trust the person..
.. the reasons could be that the person is love worthy and the person is trust worthy.. and we can come up with lots of examples to support our "arguments" to convince ourselves that this person is truly love worthy and trust worthy....but do we really love and trust a person based on the reasonings? sometimes things can be simpler than it seems. it's from the heart that we love and trust.

can you imagine one day.. God told you not to do anything? Stop all that you are doing at/for church now....serve Him just by being still and worship Him by simply pondering about Him?...

I agree... Belief. Believe. "it's sth we decide upon ... it just happens." my question is... can you accept the answer to be that simple? .. what do you need to do?

  8. i think... yea.. reasonings.. explanation is importnat too.. we don't want a blind faith.

    a personal choice.
    a risk to take.

  9. I admire people who have all the knowledge about the scriptures about Him... from My Utmost for His Highest. the author metions,"I do not care what I experience - I am sure of Him. ..Faith based on the experience is not faith; faith based on God's revealed truth is the only faith there is".

... whether it's like falling in love.. whether it's like ..? I don't know.. but now in my mind.. it's sing this hymn.. Come to Jesus. ...

    Enjoy your meditation. =]
