Last week....me and my red bobo

Last week... many things happened to me and my red Bobo...

On Wednesday 3:30am.. when i was driving home from UBC... i got caught by the police just before i hit No2 and Westminster.. I was running at 80k/h. the cop car was parked on the side of the road.. when i noticed it was there.. it's always too late .. cuz he's probably saw me too... there's only me driving on the road.. so the police was after me for awhile..I was confused at first why he didn't stop me right away... is he giving me a chance to slow down ... is he gonna let me go if i slowed down.. but i slowed down anyways... to 60... finally.. he stopped me with its siren and blinding flashing lights before the intersection at Westminster.. .. I got off my car and walked towards to the police car... the cop immediately said to me:"don't leave your car, you might got hit, go back into you car." so i did. I rolled down my window.. the cop pointed his flash light at me.. and kinda searched my car..for anything suspicious? then he started to ask me questions..from what i can recall..
He: "Where did you come from?"
Me: "UBC"
He: "Study for exams?"
Me: "No, I got a project due this week... (yea that's today...)"
He: "Are you feeling tired? When was the last time you had rest?..."
Me: "I am sorry?" (I thought i heard it wrong...)
He: "when was your last time sleep? how long have you been up?"
Me: "oh... that's last night..."
He: "So you have been up for quite a while eh.."
He: "Did you drink anything tonight?"
Me: "No.. I didn't drink any alcohol..only water"
He: "Can I look at your license?"
(I passed him my dl)
He: "and you are supposed to have a green thing on your car..."
Me: "What? I have it on.."
(He walked to back of the car)
He: "No.. you don't have it.."
Me: Somebody took it! (I got mad at whoever took it ... I parked it at UBC ... I can't believe ppl would even took other's N sign...)
He: "I am just telling you."
He: "you know, from the way i saw you driving... you are probably not in the shape to drive.... I have been a student. I know it's tough for students at this time of school year...but I would suggest you not to drive if you feel too tired. "
...
He: "How far away are you from home?"
Me: "It's No.2 and Williams.."
He: "Ok. Drive safe. " ...

He let me go without giving me a ticket.. I arrive home safe... took a shower.. and went to bed at around 4:30am..On Wednesday morning.. I overslept.. till 7:30am... but I had a lab starting at 9.. so I had to drive to be able to on time...I drove w/o and N.. I felt uncomfortable to drive w/o an N but I didn't have the material to make one... after school .. before the driver's licensing office closed.. I got a new N sign.. i felt better with it...

On Thursday night, I came to CCF dinner after I spent some time working at home...it was fun... I am glad i went. =] but when i drove home.. after i got off ARthur laing and passed the 180' degree bridge... i missed the red light... I still couldn't understand how I could not see it turning red? or I saw it turning red.. but just not responding to it? I only realised the red until i saw a red taxi driving across the intersection in front of me.. when i was about to cross too.. i immediately hit my break.and turned my wheel slightly to the left.. i could tell that the taxi was speeding up too.. to avoid me.. hitting its back.. then i heard the honk from the back... the whole thing happened in just 1 or 2 seconds.. but it left me shocked...

Yesterday... Sunday, after lunch at the noodle place... i backed up from the parking spot.. I heard Daisy yelling:"(something like) AHHHH ~ the left side!!" Then i heard a terrible "Boom.!" I crashed into a concrete pillar on the left ... so badly. my bobo's left mirror was knocked off..the small triangle window was crashed broken too and the left fender underneath the left window was bumped in... I was... blanked out...Daisy got off to examine it... Sophie helped me call ah Tong to come save my bobo and me... We cleaned up the broken glasses on the seats... and the dashboard.. lots of pieces are still on the floor and got into the fans... Ah Tong temporarily put the mirror back with lots of tape... If it's not him coming to help.. i really didn't know what to do... He also told me that.. next time when i back up.. remember to back up straight... When I drove home... i felt kinda ... don't know how to describe... I hurt my bobo so badly.. (and please don't laugh when you see the pictures...I know.. it's bad... and I was just too stupid to let this happen...)

I think i was just too stupid to let all these happen... I can say i am just too tired to drive... but that's not it.. cuz I know i was tired.. I just didn't admit that I was too tired to drive... I totally failed myself on this.. How hard was it to admit you were weak and tired.. when you were? i guess it's hard for me.. and I really needed to drive.. so I chose to be an irresponsible driver and allowed myself to be a hazard to others..... I was overconfident in myself too.. ...I was blinded .... What if I hurt others? What if I hurt my friends inside the car? ... and Thank God that I am safe.. and others are safe too.. ...

so i took my bobo to Honda for a repair today .. it is costing me close to $1,500.. anyways... I think i learned my lessons... I seriously hope that I have learned my lessons and won't repeat my mistakes again...

They give me a courtesy car to drive but i don't really feel like driving ... need to go to UBC for a review session tomorrow.. I think for the time being i will just take the bus...
i miss my bobo...

  2. Thank God that you didn't get into a crash when you drove thru an intersection. Thank God that your first crash happened in a safe environment and friends were there to help you!! Thank God that your first crash was not serious and you were not hurt at all.

Pray that you will be alert every time you get behind the wheels!!

Thank God for a lesson that didn't cost lives...
