Walking home from bus stop today... I saw dandelions flying towards me... and flying away... they caught my attention and reminded me of the dandelion picture i drew during one of CCF bible studies.. a few years ago...
"The sower went out to sow his seed; and as he sowed, some fell beside the road; and it was trampled under foot, and the birds of the air ate it up. And other seed fell on rocky soil, and as soon as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture. And other seed fell among the thorns; and the thorns grew up with it, and choked it out. And other seed fell into the good soil, and grew up up, and produced a crop a hundred times as great." - Luke 8:5-8
I think i didn't understand the instruction correctly ... ? and you know one of my expertise is go off topic. hah... The instruction was to draw a picture based on this bible passage.? immediately though, a picture occured in my mind..where there were whole bunches of dandelions flying to the winds from the mountain on one end of the ocean to the mountain on the other end... there is such a long distance to go.. some dandelions fell on the water midway ... others continued on their way to the mountain on the other end.. those who fell on the water encouraged the other ones to look forward. no matter how upset they were to lose their companions, friends... they should just keep on going until one day they reached the mountain on the other end..of the ocean. they carried a mission? they carried a dream. to spread their seeds to everywhere of the world. ... that was what i thought of about my picture. ...
it was simple...but i think it's a beautiful picture.. it touches me.

I think I am kinda childish sometimes... maybe it's just good to be childish sometimes..?
I remembered very clearly. I was holding your drawing and laughing uncontrollably. It was a really different version of what the scripture may look like.
ReplyDeleteNow that you explain it again, I can see your mental image again... It's beautiful. It's also cruel to see some seeds who didn't make it... I guess in reality, not everyone will make the other side, but we all try our best to fly as close to the other side as possible.
