After shock

I was on my way to work this morning where I heard from the radio saying, there's yet another after shock in Haiti..on Thursday night (or just very recently I can't remember exactly when now..) I was shocked. yes. I was shocked by the after shock. It's something you know that could happen (like it had in SiChuan earthquake 2 years ago.) But it's something no one ever wants to know that would happen, not to mention that it had already happened and could be happening again. It's said that there might be another after shock to occur next week and yet another one within a month.

So you start wondering when is this hellish devastating disaster going to end? "You have killed so many lives, destroyed so many homes... shattered so many dreams.. breaking apart so many love and hope... already... aren't you going to stop at all?" In your heart.. you feel the pain... you are heart broken to imagine so many lives suffering.. innocent..but put into this great torment and despair.... On the other hand, you feel the anger... emerging.. and regret that here and now there's not much you can do to help.

but you know what. Every time something bad happens, God is able to make good of it. Every time when the devil means to do harm in God's Kingdom and break His people, God is able to build and strengthen a people and nation from it.

Volunteers from all over the world hurry to the severely damaged and still a dangerous zone.. to rescue lives...
Millions of people generously and wholeheartedly give their financial and prayer support...
There's a all-star telethon tonight to raise funds for the earthquake relief.. These bunch of many celebrities come together. They ask for more help and they call for actions.
There's the large group of people marching in their homeland destructed and left with broken homes, filled with debris and even dead bodies.. They praise the Lord.

Before this earthquake, I didn't know there is a third-world country (the poorest country in the west hemisphere) called Haiti and a nation of people called Haitian..living in extreme poverty..

Dear Father, in the mist of your presence, your people are strengthened and sharing your love and hope... The ones who are suffering now.. are holding onto you, with the Hope in You. ... We pray for more miracles to happen.. we pray for more lives to be saved.... we pray for your protection and provision to the earthquake victims and your beloved children esp those who are still lost... we pray for comfort, peace .. and Hope.

Father, We trust in You.

  1. i agree that they need a lot of help. but i am frustrated when i know that resources have arrived, but planes are asked to return with their loads of stuff, they arent getting into the hands of the needy (i know it's not an easy task to distribute things in such chaotic environment..) and the strong ones are fighting to get resource first!!!

i am worried about the safety of the rescue teams... they know there's danger, but they are willing to leave their comfortable homes and go show God's love in Haiti...

the whole thing also reminds me of the 'post-modernism' lecture from fellowship training at AFC. we now receive so much info, but we cant really do much about it. coz info are from far far away now...

God, what am i suppose to do with all these heart-broken news? please....

  2. Before you mentioned.. I didn't know there was such difficulty in distributing the resources.. It's even more so with the anarchy..

info is from far far away.. and we will only know the pieces of it.. little pieces of the reality ...but with the pieces we know, there's deep thinking. and..with the pieces we know, I believe we will keep praying.
