It's dinner

About a week and a day ago, I was walking back home from my friend's place... It's about 6pm in the evening..

There were a lot of people walking on the street. They walked really fast.. On the road beside the street, there was heavy traffic...buses were so packed.. wasn't it rush hour where people just got off work? It's Wednesday and it's a typical day in Shenzhen city.

As I walked, I noticed a mid-age lady sitting on the ground right by the garbage bins on the side of the street... she seemed to have not shower for days... and her clothes and her belongings looked all so dirty... the garbage bins were put slanted.. where there were thrown-away rice and some kinda of food... She's picking out the rice with her right hand.. and ate it.. in the other hand of hers, she's holding a little baby who seemed to be sleeping...

I was stunned to see this... I was walking ... and walking...and I started to feel the heartache... I was thinking would somebody stop for them and give them something? ... or is it some kind of organization using them to gain people's sympathy to make money out of this? ... I turned my head to look at them as I continued to walk...people walking by looked at them but nobody did anything.. nobody cared? ... Couldn't I just give them a hand? ... cuz I know I would regret if I don't.. then I stopped... and I walked back towards them. I took out 20 yuan from my pocket. ..

"Ni Hao"
The woman turned her head towards me, "Ni Hao"
"Wo gei you 20 kuai qian. Ni qu mai dian dong xi chi ba. Bu yao zai chi zhe xie le."
"Ni hai zi mei shi ba?" (I thought to myself before I did this..Maybe it's not her child, maybe she got the baby to earn sympathy and money from the strangers on the streets? That's something we heard of from the news.. but so what?... )
The woman replied, "mei shen me."
"Na hao.."
I was about to walk away.
"Bao zhong a" I turned and walked and I heard...
"Xie Xie"

I was on my way home... going to a dinner with my family .. with my Dad's coworker's family.. in a high end restaurant... We picked whatever we would like to eat on the menu. and we got to complained that the dishes were all too salted... why not? we paid for this! eh? After the dinner, my brother, my sister in law went to a drinking party.. with their friends... my brother got drunk..
