Ketchup Chicken

I ate ketchup chicken rice for dinner tonight.  As I was eating it, it reminded me of my childhood favorite dish pork chops in tomato sauce made by my Grandma. Grandma was a good cook. It's been quite many years since she stopped cooking.

A few years ago, when I was back home. I said I wanted to have the pork chops in tomato sauce again. She taught the maid how to make it by word, and it's never tasted the same.  I wish i could enjoy that dish again made by my Grandma...

I can tell that Grandma is getting older faster these days. She doesn't go out any more unless uncle and aunt come visit her from HK and take her out for dimsum. She doesn't remember stuff I have told her many times. She can't hear well and sometimes she can barely hear me over the phone...

I remember how she took care of me when I was little.. we were close.. physically and emotionally. I was attached to her, although I found her intimidating sometimes.  She's always the bossy one in the family. I was the only one who dared to "fight" with her and she's ok with that...

Time waits for on one. It's just gone by before you can realize.  I am thinking.. I haven't been home to spend my Birthday for so many years. I wish.. I could share my Birthday cake with my family this year.
